“Mono No Aware” or “the pathos of things”, which is a Japanese term for the awareness of impermanence, or transience of things, a transient gentle sadness at their passing as well as a deeper gentle sadness about this state being the reality of life.

This is an experimental way of “misplacing objects” by putting them into an unfamiliar context. Through doing so we achieve a disruption in the usual space, causing people to pay attention to their surroundings, making them appreciate the moment more. By introducing unexpected objects into a common setting we draw attention to the subtlety of the moment. Here a piece of cloth that looks like it is in motion is actually fixed, creating a paradox.
