Painted wood, fishing line, nails
3000 x 3000 x 3000 mm
An experimental sculpture that focuses on the disassembly of human vision and perception.
When we find ourselves in an unfamiliar setting the first thing that the mind does is relate to a familiar or previously experienced spaces (NOTE: it might not necessarily be a space that you consciously remember, it may be an associated feeling or scent. This has to do with the fact that the human brain never forgets anything, memories/experiences that are not in active use get stored away.) What you see evokes memories thus, expanding the physical space infinitely. The mind starts to play a game of associations, adding its own elements to the perceived surroundings. However, regardless of how vivid the memory is, it is never perceived like our physical surroundings, it tends to consist of individual objects, colours, textures, corners and crevices. Thought that a fractured space consisting of elements meaningful to the individual is created.
